For the office, keep the pleats crisp and the pallu pinned flat over the shoulder. A high-neck three-quarter-sleeve blouse in a solid colour makes the whole drape look intentional. Small studs, a watch, nothing more.
For a puja or family function, go the other way: an open pallu, a gold border on show, jhumkas and glass bangles. A round-neck blouse with a small back detail is enough.
For a party, try the seedha pallu drape with the pallu falling in front, and swap the blouse for a sleeveless or halter cut. One statement piece — a choker or a pair of long earrings — and let the saree be the rest.
For travel or a long day, wear a ready-to-wear or pre-stitched saree. It takes two minutes, holds through the day and looks identical in photographs.
For a cooler evening, layer a plain long jacket or a shrug over the saree. It reads modern and solves the shawl problem elegantly.
The saree itself matters less than the blouse and the pinning. Two blouses in different necklines will make one saree feel like three.
