Cotton breathes better than anything else and is the honest answer for daily wear in April and May. It creases, and it will shrink slightly on the first wash, which is why we pre-shrink our cotton before stitching.
Rayon is made from wood pulp, so it feels cool and drapes like silk at a fraction of the price. It is ideal for office kurtis because it holds its shape through a full day of sitting. Wash it cold and never wring it.
Georgette and chiffon are light but woven from synthetic yarn, so they do not absorb sweat the way cotton does. Beautiful for an evening function, less so for a long afternoon outdoors.
Silk blends give you the sheen of silk with much of the breathability of cotton. This is what we recommend for a wedding in the heat, when pure silk would be punishing.
Linen is the coolest fabric after cotton and the most expensive of the group. It creases proudly, which is part of its character.
